Development Director position
Job Overview
Mass Voters for Fair Elections is an action-oriented membership
organization that is campaigning for public election campaign financing. The
overriding fundraising objective is to build a statewide membership base that
will sustain Mass Voters and enable it to employ a core group of organizers.
The Membership and Development Director will be responsible for the
implementation of fundraising strategies, including membership recruitment and
grant writing, and will assist the Executive Director in managing
relationships with individuals and foundations. The salary will be
commensurate with experience.
Job Functions
• Recruiting new Mass Voters
members.
• Recording membership data in Access.
• Working with the Executive Director to identify, research, cultivate
and solicit members and donors at all levels.
• Evaluating and reporting on a monthly basis to the Executive Director
the status of income generated. As a member of the senior management team,
participating in setting long-range strategic fundraising goals for the
organization.
• Maintaining and regularly updating the website.
• Organizing local membership meetings, pending the appointment of the
first Field Organizer.
Necessary Skills and
Experience
• Six months of related
experience and/or training.
• State of the art website-building skills.
• Excellent office and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft products, including Access.
• Must be pleasant, energetic, and be able to work with members of all
ages.
